The phone seemed to work fine out of the box and I got through the initial setup and copied all of my old phones apps over. However, when I started to try to setup my accounts which have 2factor authentication I noticed that I wasn’t getting any text messages with my codes. I had to girlfriend try to text me and I wouldn’t receive anything. I was able to receive and make phone calls and I could send text messages, but was unable to receive them. I tried putting my sim card into my father’s moto e to to if it was just mine, but it was the same issue. I then plugged my sim card into an old moto X and all my text messages came flooding in. I saw forums that expressed similar issues but they never resolved the problem. I tried everything from verifying app settings to factory reset, but nothing worked. Ultimately, I decided to return the phone and get something else. FYI I have Verizon as my carrier.

After 6 hours with tech support found out this phone is actually a Gin Lite which is only a 3g phone and is best for Canada and Europe. The box says Moto e but the IMWI comes back to a Gin Lite.Buyer be ware

For $150, you really can’t beat the value. It has Moto’s Pixel-esque version of Android, which I quite like. It does everything that you would absolutely *need* a smartphone to do: receive texts and calls, use basic apps, navigate. However, if you like using your phone to browse the web or use social media, this is not the phone for you. It has a hard time browsing on Chrome due to its measly 2GB of ram, with websites frequently freezing. Instagram stories freeze for several seconds when you exit out of them. Additionally, the phone has issues with wifi and LTE reception, with both cutting out several times a day, despite my other devices being used in the same location/on the same network having no issues. It also has no NFC and a pretty terrible camera, but that’s to be expected at this price. If performance and wifi/network connectivity weren’t so bad, I’d have no issues with this phone. If you only need something that can text and call, this would be fine, but I’d probably get a Nokia 2.3 instead, since it’s $30 cheaper. If you want something that you can use without unacceptable performance issues, go with a phone that has minimum 4gb of ram, like the Moto G Power. I’m going to return this phone for something with better performance.

Wifi signal drops everytime you leave the room that has a router. You need data plan or you get interrupted. It’s a nice looking phone but freezes a lot. Battery life is decent. I only buy Motorola and this one is trash compared to others for same price.

By far the best Moto phone for the price! The Moto Actions: 3 finger tap for screen shot, pick up to silence, shake twice for flashlight to mention a few make it a super user friendly phone. Great camera and nice screen. Comes preloaded with games and apps that eat up space but are easily deleted if you don’t want them. I have a hard time justifying hundreds of $ for a phone but missed the perks. This phone gives you a lot for the price.See more

This prepaid Verizon phone feels and performs like a high-quality phone. It’s solid, feels great in the hand, has many moto functions that add to the experience that isn’t on any other phone I’ve owned. You need to buy one to understand. It has a very generous Internal storage at 32G ! It takes great pictures as well. It’s just a fun fun phone.See more

This is a nice phone, an otter box will make it a bit chunky. The camera could be a bit better it is however fast enough and has decent battery life.

I already had a Verizon phone plan but didnt want to buy a new IPhone and because of my little usage went with a pay as you go plan. I chose this for ease on keeping my phone number. Switched over easy but had to enter my contacts manually and no photos came ver because went from IPhone to Android which s what this is. Still getting used to. I did have a problem with call sound but Verizon helped correct that. So far pleased.See more
