Here is the Wattage breakdown measured with a  Tacklife EM02 Classic Power Meter Energy Watt Voltage Amps Electricity Usage Monitor Tester with Overload Warning, LCD Display for Saving Energy Cost Electricity costs are based on the U.S. average of 12 cents / kwh run 24/7 :Sleep mode : 3.7w = $3.89/yrlevel 1: 5.7w = $6.00/yrlevel 2: 7.7w = $8.10/yrlevel 3: 12.1w = $12.72/yrlevel 4: 69.5w = $73.06/yrDon’t forget these are costs for 24 hours a day. If you run the 12 hour timer, your prices will be nearly half that posted here.Level 4 is a Turbo mode which will super succ the air so it is high wattage for good reason. When you turn on Turbo mode you know why it the wattage is that higher. This Winix 5300-2 model is also Energy Star certified for good reason.Of course your mileage may vary on these costs as these are just averages. But you’re likely to be on level 1 most of the time unless you live in a smoggy/smokey area. These energy costs should convince you to run your air purifier 24/7 unless you’re really tight for money.5/8/2018 EDIT ⏰⏰::She still works great!! I haven’t had my annual Spring allergies at all since using it still!!😍I just changed one of the black carbon filters cause it was getting very dusty. Amazed at how much dust this thing picked up in the short 4 months I had it!9/27/2019 EDIT:Over a year later and she’s still kickin dust mite poop and pollen outta the room! I even bought a second one for the work room in my house. No problems!5/2020Were into year 2 and no problems still. I never use the plasmawave for fear of ozone. The smart sensor still seems accurate to what’s in the room. Still don’t get allergies.I buy official annual winix filters, about 40$ on Amazon, not too bad. I bet the third parties ones are good too though.

Arrived on time. I’m a smoker (cigarettes, what were you thinking?), and the smoke used tovwaft in the air of my studio apartment like floating sheets. Now? All gone. I can have baked garlic and anchovies for dinner and, within 15 minutes, you’d never know (unless you kissed me, of course). Whisper quiet unless on the highest setting.Four stars instead of five because the “air quality sensor”, which supposedly adjusts strings based on air quality, is . . . eccentric. A summo wrestler could fart straight at the machine and it wouldn’t notice. But in the middle of the night — no smoking, no cooking, nothing — it will decide the air is foul and turn on high. Always curious: just what does it sense? Sound sleep?

Do not buy this unit.!!. First things first, do not buy into the whole plasma thing. There is nothing else in this unit except a hepa filter and a large scotchbrite pad they are calling a carbon filter. It is not a carbon filter. If you look through the front with filters off you see the fan squirrel cage, if you look down the back you see the other side of that cage. There is no uv light no nothing after the filter. Hepa filter will help clear dust. Small particles in the air. But that is it. Wont do anything with smells or bacteria or anything else that they claim it does. I tested the carbon filter in distilled water. And did a white rub off test. As i suspected nothing happened. A true carbon filter will break apart in water. A infused carbon will release small carbon particulate, and will leave black carbon on any surface when rubbed across it.The only way to reduce bacteria and pathogens in this manner is with ultraviolet. What this unit is claiming is wrong. If you want to just re filter the air in your home you can find way cheaper ways. And if your home has central heat/ac you already have this type of filtration,Im returning this unit now

Easy peasy to setup. Just remove the tapes, unwrap the filters, place filters, run. Super quiet. Fan mode 3 is quiet, 4 sounds like a well oiled machine. At fan modes 2 or 1 you can’t even hear it. Has a night time mode that essentially keeps it quiet and leaves but one little light on. For best results place nearest to the point of air congestion. I bought 2, one for the living room and one for the bedroom. It has a sensor that detects obnoxious elements in the air so that in auto mode it will do what it needs with no input.

I have up to this point very skeptical about Air Purifiers. I have used several, but I could never judge the effectiveness of them until now. Enter the Winix 5300-2. I love it!. It quietly and efficiently keeps my living room air fresh. If something does comes across it’s path to muck up the air, lol the color bar turns another color other than blue, (which indicates clean air) the Winix does it’s thing until the blue color returns on the bar-Amazing! I love and believe in this product to the point I’m tossing out my other Air Purifiers and getting another Winix as I’m sold on this. Get one yourself and you’ll see what I mean.

The Winix 5300-2 is compact, quiet and cleans the air very well. Filter change is very simple and easy to get done. The “Auto-Mode” feature is terrific, it adjusts fan speed and controls the “PlasmaWave” feature based on air quality sensor readings. When you turn off the lights at bedtime, the fan switches to low speed and all panel lights shut off until you turn the lights back on or daylight returns. The air quality lights (blue, amber, red) are easy to see, even from across the room. The bottom line is: In the under $200 air purifier arena, the 5300-2 delivers everything I could have expected and more. I am totally satisfied with my purchase, I would definitely buy Winix again and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an air purifier.
